Abstract
Soil, Water and Environment Research Insutute (SWERI) acquired muJlidate data of SPOT panchromatic, Multispectral, and lANDSAT 1M scenes which are considered a very valuable source of Information. Change detection Involves Ihe use of multl·lemporal dala sets 10 discriminate areas of land cover variations a\ -;iiffe ent dates of imaging. The aim of the study is 10 compute these variations and provide a global view of the development in the agricultural land in the east delta up 10 1997 usin9 the existing scenes archive. The study used Maximum Likelihood dasslfication tecnnlque to deted and mor'li1or the vartatlons of land cover.
